Good Morning to You!!

Good morning minions! The birds are chirping, the kids are sleeping….I know, miracles do happen! Anyway, hello followers!! I’m so excited that you think what I’m writing is of value. I’d love to get to know each of you if that’s ok. I love love love learning about people. My days are spent at home raising kids, so to communicate with adults…yippee!

I’m going to start. Bragging, bitching, broken heart ramblings are all allowed. If you don’t know who you are tell me who you’d like to be! There’s no judgement here. I just want to know you. πŸ’œ

Ok…..
I’ve been given the nickname Bits, so that’s what I’ll call myself. I’m a stay home mom. We have three kids that are all grown up and moved out, and four kids at home ranging in ages still-wearing-diapers baby to wrecking-ball teenager. I am a step-parent of our two oldest, but in my heart there isn’t a damn bit of difference. I try to let my kids be what I wasn’t allowed to be…individual, unique. Don’t worry! Not in a Will and Jada sorta way. I just don’t force them to be blonde if they want to be a red head, or violin when they want to run. I’ve been a mom my entire adult life, and when they’re all grown up I will be completely lost in this world! We are transplants to the Midwest from the Pacific Northwest. And no, there are no real mountains here. All trails lead to home so here is where we stayed. I have anxiety, as do two of our kids. Their idea not mine I swear. I’ve been married almost 14 years. Miraculous. My husband is an infantryman, Army. No longer chasing bad guys in foreign lands, he fishes, chases our tiny ranger. He’s got two brand new shiny knees and is the biggest smart ass EVER. He does Facebook…which is on my ‘I hate that shit’ list. He’s my big, cuddly, funny kid. We have two dogs, Moe is our ever present guard on duty, while freckles is well, freckles. Puppy, chewy, naughty, so very loving. I have early onset macular degeneration but I still have eyes in the back of my head so it’s all good! I would love to have more tattoos, but alas, we have kids that need to eat. I have a nose ring, ear piercings and purple hair. I LOVE my purple hair. I am unique, might as well let my social awkwardness fly freely!!! I love writing, coloring, hiking…and back in the day I loved to ski. Now, aware of the danger I avoid it…and there’s no mountains here! Damn it! My favorite painter is Vermeer. I despise selfie sticks. They are all that’s wrong with the world. I curse, which I hate, but try not to. I have a love hate relationship with being at home all day. Mainly because I have no life of my own. While speaking to adults I often use words like ‘tummy’ or ‘ouchie’ or ‘poo poo’…because it’s what I say all day long. I hate spiders. I love to garden. Growing the things that we can sit around and eat together is great therapy! I am a Christian. God has brought me out of more than I will ever say here and now, but rest assured I would not be alive if it were not for His Love and Grace. I don’t push my faith on others, rather choosing my life as an example of who He is. Hence ‘little bit of heaven’…there is always a lesson that can help someone.

I’m not cool and don’t care, but because I can and will..it’s your turn brave followers.

  1. I love this post. It sounds like a lovely family you’ve got. Me, I’m a simple person. Without this sounding like a dating blog, I’m 27 and living life to my fullest (which isn’t much) and it’ll do for me. I’m a family person myself. I don’t yet have my own family, but I cherish the other ones I have. I love my friends as well. I suffer from schizo-affective disorder which is difficult. But I have some sanctuaries where it Ok to talk about it, on here being one of them. Thank you for following me, and I look forward to reading me more of you works!

  2. “Who are you” is too big a question and too anxiety producing for me to attempt to answer in a comment box. Although, just that comment probably reveals a lot about me. I hope you understand! I loved getting to learn a few bits about you, Bits, and I look forward to learning a lot more as I read your blog.

  3. I’m just starting my whole adult life, really. Have my first baby on the way which is due in May. I come from a HUGE family, 6+ kids, depending on where you’re counting. I have a twin brother and myself and him were adopted. My husband was an air force brat and travelled the World at a young age, he’s also one of 6. I’m pretty sure we will have a big family as well which I’m content with. My husband is now in the Army and works in communications (God bless you for marrying an infantryman) and we live in South Korea. It’s nothing like people think or what’s on the news…mostly what people hear isn’t true. And when you’re military, you learn quickly that the news isn’t all that accurate anyways.

Totally agree that you have an adorable nickname. I love your openness and honesty. I also love that you don’t push your faith on people. I think Christians tend to loose the idea that you can plant seeds just by the way you live. I have had anxiety my whole life and struggle with it – probably stemming from my emotionally unstable biological Mom. But hey, what are you going to do?!

I’ve learned some excellent coping mechanisms and they work well for me. My passion was theatre – singing, dancing and acting. Did it all thru my teenage years and the first few years before I was married. Unfortunately, I haven’t been in a show in almost 2 years which is the longest ever! But I hope to hit hat stage again and surprise some people 😊

Truth is, my life sounds extremely interesting but I just laugh because it’s pretty boring. But I’m content with where I am in my relationship and lot in life. Learning how to make it more fun day by day!

    1. Big family, adopted, military! So much in common! I love my big, loud and obnoxious family. My anxiety stems from much the same in my early years. Congrats on the newest addition to your fam! From one anxious mom to another…it’s all small stuff in Gods grand design and he’s got you. I hope you have family coming to you for the arrivalπŸ’œ and I know better than most that what the media portrays is far from the reality we see, good and bad, and forgotten. Please tell me more about life in South Korea!?! I bet it’s such an adventure. Thank You for the compliments and for following your hubby so far from your comforts. ( I’m still working on others loving me, taking compliments to heart…ask my husband.)

  4. First of all, your nickname is adorable, lol I envy that you still have little ones at home. My babies are 20 and 18 and although they haven’t flown the nest just yet, its coming and then I’m gonna be sad and lonely, lol BUT, maybe they will bless me with grandbabies someday?! I have talents and passions that I’ve lost interest in because of my anxiety, but when Im feeling good, I love to edit photos. It is a dream to be able to turn that into a business someday, but I’m not that bright when it comes to getting it to take off, lol My dogs name is Harley (he’s my baby) and our cats are Smokey, Oreo and Chewy. Yes, that’s short for Chewbacca cuz my hubby is a Star Wars geek, lol. I have 7 tattoos (more to come cuz Im addicted) and 17 piercings πŸ˜€

    1. I like Starwars, but my heart is with the super hero comics, movies, you name it. I dig Sherlock Holmes too. I haven’t read a book in years, short of my bible and kids stuff. You should put up some of your pics with your posts!!!! I’d love to see them! I want to get my children’s names on my back, but who knows how saggy it will by the time we can manage it 😝

      1. I’m a Marvel chick, myself. Spiderman, to be specific lol Met Stan Lee last year and it was one of the greatest days of my life. His last appearance, ever, in Canada is this year in Toronto, so I am SO happy I got to meet him. My list of tattoos that I want is growing, so Im thinkin’ its time to win the lottery so I can actually get them lol πŸ˜›

        1. Shut the front door!?! I’m jealous in ‘teenaged-grunge girl got nirvana cover tickets’ kind of way….too cool. I can’t believe it. Btw, I lived a few hours from the Canadian border and never got to see it. So sad. Everyone always posts the most beautiful pictures from your neck of the woods. I also lived near Seattle and never went up in the space needle. C’est la vie….

            1. Same here. We go into the city we live by rarely, but when we do I’m all a flutter. When our kids have left the nest we want to travel and fish, and hunt. Because it’s manly and yucky, and you just never know if The Walking Dead is just around the corner πŸ˜‰
